Akoia’s whole team is passionate to do the best work and to give the same.
The brand started from a love of the beach and having limited bikini choices. The girls were all 14 years old when they started the brand. And I would say this is such a short time to start. They give the best designs at such affordable prices.

  1. Akoiaswim sent me a bikini with an unravelling bikini top. So I went onto their website and checked whether they did refunds for faulty items before emailing them. It said they did and that the funds would be back into your account 5 days after they receive the faulty stock back in the mail. I messaged their team, they agreed to give me a refund, after showing them the photos of the top, and gave me the address I needed to send it back to. They received the package 18 days ago…..and they will not reply on any medium (email or instagram) so now they have the bikini back and my money and are not replying to anything. Their instagram comments are full of girls writing “Hey check your emails” or “Does anyone check their DM’s”. This company just doesn’t reply when someone has a complaint. Super disappointing seeing as their bikinis are around $200 not $50 where it wouldn’t really matter if you didn’t get a refund.

    • So frustrating. I received my bikini about 5 days ago. As soon as I took it out of it’s packaging I knew it was way too small. I immediately contacted them saying I would like to exchange for a bigger size (I assumed the size would be fine as it is my usual size and it was ridiculously small compared to the usual ‘XS’) They replied to my email asking for my order number, I sent it to them and didn’t get a reply. I sent another email requesting the same thing a day later incase they hadn’t seen the previous one. I’ve now sent my 3rd email requesting an exchange. Such a shame as I’ve followed the girls who created this brand for years and thought it would be great to support their business. Very sad to see someone else who has been let down by akoia. I also decided to support them because their bikinis are beautiful, handmade, and ethical. I am very upset to have spent a couple hundred dollars, just to be unable to wear the product. Big shame.
